Weingut Waalem

The Winery with the Polar Bear

Constant sea breeze, harsh North Sea climate – wine with character, from the middle of the mudflats.

Viticulture in Harmony with Nature

On the island of Föhr, pure sea air moves the grapes, which thrive under the North Frisian sun and ripen in the mild North Sea climate. What began as an experiment has become a matter close to Christian Roeloffs and his son Lenz - passionate and proud Frisians.

Quality instead of quantity

Handcraft out of conviction

The vineyard area managed by the father-son duo and their team now covers around six hectares, which is cultivated entirely by hand. With great joy in wine and genuine gratitude, the claim of "quality over quantity" is deeply rooted in the philosophy of the entire team at Weingut Waalem.
