Constant sea breeze, rough North Sea climate and a winery in the middle of the mudflats. The fact that we, as passionate and proud Frisians, began to grow wine on Föhr - in the middle of the stormy North Sea - was initially an experiment. In our wine tours we also talk about what climate change and polar bears have to do with it.

But the tireless efforts of the entire team and the special climatic conditions have made this experiment a success story. Today, the Waalem winery is a symbol of innovative viticulture that combines tradition and modernity. We now cultivate around six hectares of vineyards.

The grapes are moved by pure sea air, warm themselves under the North Frisian sun and ripen in the mild, stimulating climate. Every drop of our wine tells of the North Sea, the salty air and the unique terroir of the island of Föhr. Every glass is therefore an invitation to experience a piece of our homeland and to taste the passion that lies in every bottle.
