News from our construction site

Our construction project is making great strides: the first tanks have now arrived and have taken their place in our tank farm.

The first two tanks installed in our wine cellar are made of concrete. The decision to use concrete tanks was a conscious one, because compared to traditional steel tanks (which we will of course continue to have), concrete tanks offer some notable advantages: Concrete is a natural material that, due to its porous structure, allows minimal oxygen to enter, which has a positive effect on the wine's maturation process. Without overlaying the wine, this micro-oxidation leads to a gentler and more harmonious development of the aromas. Steel tanks, on the other hand, completely exclude oxygen, which can lead to very precise but sometimes cooler aromas.

Concrete also has the ability to regulate temperature particularly well. This thermal stability ensures that the wine is constantly stored under ideal conditions throughout the entire maturation process.

The use of concrete tanks is therefore not only a return to traditional methods, but also an expression of our striving for the highest quality and character in our wines.

With the delivery of the tanks, we have reached another important milestone in the completion of our project - and we look forward to seeing the first wines maturing in these special containers soon.
